Light Dependent Reaction
Calvin Cycle
The stroma, thylakoid, grana, and chlorophyll all work together in order to carry out many processes in the plant cell. The grana is made up of several thylakoids stacked together in order to create more surface area, making the organelle more efficient. The stroma is like the cytoplasm of the chloroplast. It covers the grana and many chemical reactions occur in this area. The granum has a light-absorbing protein pigment on top of it called chlorophyll. This is the area that absorbs the sunlight which is used in the process of making the sugars.
